SENIOR SUSTAINABILITY CONSULTANT – ENERGY & CARBON

- Consult with factory management on Energy & Carbon programs. Train factory management and factory energy management team on energy saving techniques and technology.
- Deliver or facilitate factory and team capability building. Provide expertise to team and factories
- Lead and influence factory management to implement energy management programs and projects.
- Provide consultation to factory level strategic planning & drive strategy deployment including financial aspects (depreciation, return on investment, capital expenditures) of energy price, carbon legislation, technology upgrades, and process improvement.
- Ensure high standard for investment decisions and performance management of the energy investments
- Drive factory Energy & Carbon performance against public sustainability targets & other KPIs in terms of reducing energy consumption, energy cost and CO2 emission
- Assess factory energy and carbon management program development.
- Lead and train application of lean manufacturing methodology to energy management, includingvalue stream mapping, kaizen continuous improvement, &PDCA problem solving
- Solve complex problems in collaboration with partners & business leaders
- Partner in initiative project work with other departments within NIKE
- Lead sharing of best practices between factory groups and within NIKE
- Drive discipline for timely and accurate data management.
- Process all information utilizing Nike energy toolsets to develop energy and water savings technical brief
- Visit contracted Nike factories and collect all relevant technical data on energy consuming equipment including dye tanks, boilers, motors, air compressors, lighting, etc.
- Provide technical brief to senior leaders for review and further analysis
- Coach junior Energy & Carbon Sustainability Consultants to deliver against global Sustainable Manufacturing & Sourcing beyond compliance strategies
- Be a Sponge – continually develop to stay up to date on the latest developments by discipline (government initiatives, incentives and changes in local legislation etc)
- University degree in engineering, preferably mechanical, electrical or industrial engineering
- Minimum 3 years of energy consulting experience, preferably in a factory setting.
- Experience with initiating and implementing energy minimization and energy saving programs on boiler systems, air compressor systems, and electric motors.
- Experience using energy analysis tools (thermal imaging camera, amp meter, etc.)
- Clear attention to details with a strong ability to obtain and clearly report specific process and equipment information
- Experience in coaching, consulting and Factory engagement.
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be a team player and have sound judgment and analytical abilities.
- Footwear/apparel/textile experience is not required, but a plus
